Mike Russell gives a peek into his idea of pure masculinity by touting the bad-ass powers of The Green Machine. After a small minute or two soaking in the nostalgia bath of the late 70's and the media's attempt to coerce children into vehicular manslaughter, "The Last Exorcism" is reviewed, and Rumor Control steps in to explain why about 2/3rds of the movie news you're hearing is overexaggerated press-release pablum. Other topics include - how to successfully interview James Cameron, what Expendables 2 needs to do in order to succeed, and various nerdfights breaking out into a cacophony of limp-wristed slaps and grunts.

The goal: To get the Mike Russell Power Hour to steam to a review of Pirahna 3D. The obstacles - the 30 other digressions, distractions and ridiculous flotsam placed on the track with the intent to comedically derail. Mike spent 14.75 of his own hard-earned cash to review this tribute to schlock and mammaries. Will he succeed? Topics include - James Cameron's fruitless trip to South America for validation, More on the Scott Pilgrim fallout, Why can't Fatboy talk, Mike's own set of verbal crutches, and what happens when you kick them out from under him - politely. Also: Applying the fantasy sports model to moviemaking, why do the "Epic Movie" guys keep getting work even though they're terrible, and bad news for fans of Mutants and Ninjas.

We celebrate Friday the 13th by resurrecting the beast that is THE MIKE RUSSELL POWER HOUR. No news, no sidetracks - straight movies, and nothin but movies. We toss Eat Pray Love and Expendables up on the autopsy slab and get to work identifying the emptiness at the center of these creations, less films than they are lifestyle pornography aimed at people who specifically don't want any MOVIE in their movie. And then there is Scott Pilgrim, an emotionally satisfying kung-fu action flick based on a comic book about videogames, starring Michael Cera. How the hell does Edgar Wright manage to make a better action star and romantic lead out of Michael Cera than either Julia Roberts or Sylvester Stallone could muster? Plus, some Harry Potter news and classic B-Movie recommendations from Mike Russell

Comedian Natasha Leggero politely endures having her name mispronounced for 10 straight minutes while conversing with Cort and Fatty about judging on Last Comic Standing, dating within the industry, what a horrible person Sharon Osborne is, and her show at the new Helium Comedy club in Portland. Then Mike Russell talks about the Winnebago Man, reviews The Other Guys, and weighs in on subjects including: Bare-Chested Goldblum, Dinosaurs, a 300 million dollar R-Rated Justice League movie, why there isn't a Star Wars live-action TV show yet, the feasibility of outrunning a T.Rex on a Big Wheels, and why whiskey and cookies are the perfect fuel for commentaries.

The Mike Russell Power Hour steams like an overcaffeinated freight train through the fallout of Comic-Con, day 1: A festival of marketing and advertising fed to cheeping fanboys seated in a sturdy nest of pop-culture. Topics include: Who cast Jonny-Cab as Jeff Bridges in the new Tron trailer, why Helen Mirren with a .50 cal sniper rifle might be the sexiest thing onscreen this year, Sam Neill interrupts Mike Russell's perfunctory review of the Adult-Contemporary Smooth Groove action film "Salt," How Johnny Knoxville managed to show up 3/4ths of all the executives in Hollywood with Jackass 3D, Scott Pilgrim, World War Z, and Disney's "Cthulhu," coming soon to screens near you.

A particularly contentious episode of the Mike Russell Power Hour. The Man from CulturePulp DEMANDS satisfaction, and Fatty definitely feels the glove slap on the subjects of comedy's subjectiveness, and Fatty's (probably counterproductive) opinions on Shakespeare's works. But that's all preamble to the Inception review, a tangle of mazes and ideas and concepts and brilliant imagery and acting all expertly mixed together by magician/director Christopher Nolan. Other topics include - Ryan Reynolds' weird Twizzler Suit and why it might not matter if he's wearing it, Rulk = Ruffalo Hulk, and surprise: The Social Network looks fascinating.

Boldly Go with Adam Rosko and Jesse Graff (Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock, respectively) of Trek in the Park: Space Seed. Mike Russell is on hand to illustrate, interrogate, and illuminate as to why and how this theater troupe decided to fly the enterprise straight through the Portland theater scene. Mike also reviews Predators, and talks about the benefits of taking things back to basics, and ignoring the years of GARBAGE that's come out since Schwarzenegger's trip to the jungle. Other topics include - The Death of James Bond, You can't trust anyone who uses Comic Sans on their important documents, and beware Big Baby.

Mike Russell tries to stop the Power Hour Train from derailing. It of course, goes off the tracks, but the conflagration of conversational explosions is almost as eye-popping as "Independence Day." Topics include - M. Night Shyamalan = OVER. Mel Gibson = OVER. Untrue facts about the pack habits of superstar text-boxer Pwn Toney, and the jealousy amidst the textboxers who don't share his name. Sony casts the next Spider-Neck, Fatboy explores the impossible with his verbal slip-ups, and the return of Pee-Wee Herman to the big screen.
